EVERYBODY has a blog these days! Do they get read? Will mine?
I have no idea. And that's ok. The beautiful thing about the Internet is that everyone now has a voice that can be heard around the world. The unfortunate thing about the Internet is that everyone now has a voice that can be heard around the world. Ha.
I wanted to write my first blog to give a shout out to writers.
Writers have an insane task ahead of them.
The labor of researching areas that you're not an expert in, mapping out a beginning/middle/end to your story, world building, exploring different language options, naming characters & giving them individual voices, laboring over whether or not to use a comma or a period in the midst of a character's speech... The list of tasks is daunting.
When we pick up a book, script or watch a film, we take for granted that the writers created everything with ease and grace. We are quick to judge what we view is awful writing and slow to praise an amazing story.
Without writers, Actors would have no stories to tell.
I've taken on the daunting task of writing my first tale. I will share no details anytime soon, for I do not actually consider myself a writer. I'm more of a dreamer, an idea kind of gal, who had a crazy dream and from that dream may or may not come a great story.
But in my short journey of weird research and zillions of notecards with sharpie scribbles and trying to organize my thoughts, my respect and admiration for every single professional writer out there has quadrupled.
Thank you, Writers. Thank you for the insane tasks you take on by telling so many great stories.
